What downpipe with m52 obd2 manifolds?

Or do I want to run ebay headers?

    We need more info.

Are you running the car on OBD2 software or OBD1? If OBD2 are you modifiying the software at all? Do you need to have certain emissions equipment?

Those are just a few things I can think of that we'd need to know before helping you out

Wondering if the downpipe off an e36 or other bmws with the 24v motor will work. Car dosen't have to meet any emissions standards and ill probly end up going obd2 with a tune

I used the OBD1 exhaust manifolds and downpipe because I need it to be legal in CA. If thats not an issue, many use the ebay headers (some are better than others) but either way you go theres a chance you will have to modify something. I needed to modify my subframe a little for clearance and the downpipe hangs low on my car, but until its approved by the state referee I have to keep this setup.

For you, its probably easier to just use the ebay headers, but if you already have the m52 manifolds and have access to a mandrel bender and welder, you might as well make your own downpipe and exhaust.

I have ebay headers on my car and the fouled on the passenger footwell and the subframe so I had to modify them pretty heavily

Anybody have pictures of ebay headers installed in car? I've seen them on engines on stands but I have RHD issues to contend with so I need to get an idea of where they will sit in relation to the steering column.

There is so much conflicting information about those headers.... I want to use them but have an x-brace to deal with...

Basically with eBay, just expect to have to modify them, you might get lucky... but probably not

from first hand experience with a previous S50 swap a couple years ago, I WOULDNT run ebay SS rep headers. They were a huge pain getting mounted, and i even had to open up the mounting holes quite a bit to have a few banks work.

I'd run obd2 manifolds, that way you can modify the downpipes as needed off the car. Also, run N54 exhaust manifold studs. shorter than E36, and gives you a bit more clearance when installing/removing.

Check Lola's build thread (link in my sig).

These are the "speed daddy" headers from ebay IIRC

                      Frame rail clearance (down low):

Fender well clearance (higher up, just below battery tray):

No way will they fit. I think that blanking plug in the middle of the aluminium heat shield is where the RHD steering column is located.

It's a shame because they look alright.

I just traded them away to kronus. Send him a message. I'm sure he doesn't need them at the moment
