    M52 cranks, 3 types

Ok guys, I've found 3 different M52 cranks.

11211433027 @20.95kg, with no application on realoem
11211433026 @24.85kg, ‘97+ but with earlier applications listed
    11211709059 @24.85kg, superseed’s the one above.

Who can shed some light on this? Most everything I've read suggests that there's an early crank, and a later M52TU crank, but my research has turned up 3 cranks. Did the early alloy blocks have a different crank than the early iron blocks?
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

Based on my notes. the 20.95kg is the standard crank found in most US m52 engines. The M54 engine is also an 84mm stroke and fits the weight of the two later part numbers you list. (the numbers are the last three digits of the casting number on the cranks). Be interesting to find out anything more.

      11211433026 is the non-tu m52
      11211433027 is also a non-tu crank,

11211709059 seems to be the tu/m54 crank

One of these non-tu cranks has shorter webbing on all of the counterweights. I think it's a non-tu alloy block because the e30zone guys seem to have them, but I can't find anything confirming that.

i have a m52 crank from US Spec e36 328i from 1997 iirc (supposed to be non TU) which is a big counterweight version and the mass without the toothed wheel, bolt, washer, pilot bearing, and chain drive was 21.5kg using a set of bathroom scales of unknown accuracy at those readings. Id guess it might get closeish to 23-24kg with fully assembled.

i bet the light ones are the small counterweight more common in euro spec engines. There is an awful amount of mass in the C/W and its all on the peripheral so acts like a heavy flywheel.
