can't you just run the stock e30 starter wire to the starter? The guy i bought the engine from cut the starter wire on the e36 harness( i dont know why). I understand that the other small wire the splits off of the starter wire and goes to the power distrubution block(is this the fuse box?). Shouldn't it already have power wires going to it already?

If you have the black and green wire hooked up to your starter disconnect it. If your windows don't work after that ground the wire out. Pm me if this doesn't work.

i just have the big black wire hooked up to the starter, it has the ring connetor thing on it. That's the only wire i have hooked up to it, then i have the alternator wires hooked to the start also. I have the smallest one, then the bigger one, and then the alternator wire and the big black(e30 wire) from the battery hooked together. The fuse box should have it's own power since i never disconnected anything from the power block, and nothing from the fuse box
