    HELP e30 s52 with m50 manifold. NEED PCV/CCV help!

    So I kind of understand how the obd1 and 2 ICV and PCV set ups go.

    A friend that helped me with the swap deleted the PCV and I am trying to put it back on.

    I am using m50 manifold on s52 and using the obd2 cone shaped crank case ventilation valve.



    The hose on the picture is supposed to go to the crank case vent but currently I have this plastic "Y" piece in there. The large hose goes into the intake boot and the skinny hose connects to the plastic snap on piece under manifold behind throttle...... Where does the hose from the PCV go then? HELP so confused! Am I mixing up obd1 and 2 methods? If I am. What is the correct plumbing to make the obd2 PCV work with m50 manifold?

    Remove the OBD1 PCV valve from the manifold. Insert long CCV hose. It should just unclip.

    Run vacuum source from intake boot/manifold to the hole on the disc, and the dipstick oil return line to the nipple on the bottom of the cone

        wish I had known about that obd1 Y piece... gonna go try to find one of those.

          If it's more space or cheap replacement you're after, some people run the E39 M5 CCV. Smaller/cheaper to buy new than the E36 style, and they should separate oil vapour better than the OBD1 setup

            I am running a small catch can and had to rig together a hose adapter to fit onto the obd2 barb fitting.

              Also OP, I don't think the OBD2 CCV hose will fit on the OBD1 valve cover (or vice versa), so you may need to swap valve covers if your friend somehow swapped the valve cover on you?

                I don't have a valve cover yet haha. Also I have my ccv set up a little different.

                I'll start from the goose neck. So the plastic piece behind throttle into the manifold, down to the goose neck. Then I cut the goose neck hose in half and trimmed. Then I have a copper T fitting in the goose neck in which I connected the CCV with a U shaped hose. Then I have a breather hose coming off breather side of ccv to the crank case. Then the little vent hose that is supposed to go into dipstick and into oil pan, I'm going to have a catch can for it. And finally I have he nipple off the plastic piece in gooseneck connect to my purge valve. I hear u can also just run the purge valve straight up out of the charcoal canister straight into manifold? The guys at m50manifold.com told me to do it like that.

                  So my set up is like this one but minus the extra T for purge. I used the T Off the nipple of plastic piece behind throttle under manifold because I deleted the air pump control valve.

                      Instead of pulling vacuum from the intake manifold, I used a setup that pulls it from the exhaust.

                      I have an adapter off the valve cover to a 3/8" line to a restrictor (to set correct vacuum for the engine using a manometer) that goes to a one-way check valve that's welded to the exhaust, just behind my oxygen sensor.

                      There's a Jegs kit...usually domestic cars or turbo guys use this setup
