    e30 m50 Turbo

Guys, I was in the process of turbochanrging my m20 motor when my gearbox gave up the ghost. I decided to go ahead with an m50 swap. Question, how many of you guys have done this? Anybody with a right hand drive e30 who has done this? What did you do about getting low compression pistons?

With right hand drive, the least of your worries is the low compression pistons... where are you going to put your turbo?

Well, most you guys (LHD) have the turbo below the manifold, I was thiniking of placing mine above the manifold...right on top.

Unless you plan on running some insane amount of boost, why not just run a thicker headgasket instead of different pistons?

A ton of e36 guys run the .140" Cometic headgasket and have great success.

top mount in the e30 is the easier place to put it imho... you can also fit a bigger turbo up there too.

You are still going to have to have some pretty trick exhaust routing though

i have 8.5 CP pistons.. call them, they already have a set speced for the s50/s52 for turbo apps
