Oil Pressure Warning Light wired to VDO sender??

I have an e30 m3 w/s52 swap. Currently my factory oil temp gauge is not hooked up. I am running the rally road oil adapter block and a VDO vision gauge and sender to an after market pressure gauge and the factory pressure switch.

So the rally road part gives me 1 x 1/8" NPT port and 1 M12 port for the factory pressure switch.

My question is, can I eliminate the factory pressure switch and replace it with a temp sender (M12) wired to pin 19 on c101 for the factory gauge? The wiring to the pressure switch would then be wired to the warning contact on the VDO gauge. Would the VDO sender work with the factory warning light on the cluster?

I'm trying to figure out how to add the temp sender without adding another port either by tapping something or getting the bimmer world adapter, even the bimmer world adpater is not ideal because it gives you 2x 1/8" NPT so you couldnt use the OEM temp sender...

Will this work? Hoping someone can confirm before I cut off the engine harness connector to the pressure switch.

    Yes.

I have done exactly that. Except I fished a new wire up through the harness rather than cutting the plug off.

VDO also makes dual pole senders so you can feed the factory warning light through the factory harness as well as support the vdo pressure guage. I used one of those for my pressure and wired the temp into the oil sump where the oil level sensor previously resided.

Yes I have the 2 pole sender, just wasn't sure the signal voltage to the cluster would be correct to illuminate the warning correctly. Sounds like this should work. Thanks!

It's just a 12V warning light in the cluster so when the switch in the VDO sender closes (grounds the circuit), the light illuminates. I've been running this way for over two years and the light works just like factory. It comes on for a second at start up until oil pressure builds and then shuts off.

the good thing is the switch on the the sensors are usually set higher than the factory 7psi. my VDO one is 13psi
