What does the E36 Need to give up for its soul to live on?

Hi all, figured this might be the best place to put this.

    Donor: 94 325, 5 spd.
    To go into: 86 325, 5 spd.

Will be dragging car into garage this weekend, and just want to make sure I don't need to grab anything else major before I put the car out in the snow for the winter.

    To grab:
    M50 (and àrms)
Getrag whatever the heck it was (240?)
    Drive shaft
    Harness, ECU
PS Pump and Rack and hoses
Radiator. Why wont the e36 expansion tank work? Is there not enough room in the e30?
    Alternator and Starter
Shifter? (does the e36 shifter and carrier need to be brought over?)

Donor Car's Final Runs up and down driveway.

    thanks everyone!

      morning,

I've already read through that and whatever used to be on e30tech, just wanting to make sure I'm not missing something small for parts to harvest. I've got a 944 booster and an e34 pan, so I know I still need to source some stuff from other places.

        Yes.

Your list is complete. You need the aluminum engine mount arms, but they're probably coming with the engine anyway.

also yes, the e36 expansion tank doesn't fit, it's too tall to go practically anywhere in the engine bay.

use the eta expansion tank/mounting position, or go to a late 325i one with some brackets. the late one is a better design and you can make it fit with the existing hoses that come out of the e36.

Good point Fred. Anyone know why the e36 expansion tank won't work?

Edit. Kronus thanks for making sense of that.
