    Gaskets to Refresh S52

Hey yall im about to put in an order on ECS for some Elring Gaskets and wanted to see if there were any i was missing for a simple S52 Refresh while the motors out.

So far im picking up this HG kit:

    https://www.ecstuning.com/b-elring-p...129069861~elr/

    And this Oil Pan Gasket:

    https://www.ecstuning.com/b-rein-par...131437237~crp/

Also will the oil pan gasket be different for the e34 Oil pan and pickup tube, or will they be the same on the S52? Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Oil filter housing gasket, and rear main seal for sure. Secure your oil pump nut if you haven't.

I got the e34 oil pan gasket, seems like they would be the same.

You should order it from Bluntech. They are a forum sponsor and can match or beat ECS' price. Support those who support us

From another thread. After a quick glance, it looks like that kit covers at least part of this. These all should fit on an S52, but please double check.

I would also weld the oil pump nut or get a nut with safety wire.

*I linked to ECSTuning since it's laid out nicely and has pictures. I would contact Dave at Blunt Tech and see if he can source things cheaper. His email is DealinDave@blunttech.com

If the engine has age/higher miles, VANOS seals. And if you have the mechanical know-how on top of it, head gasket. Better to do it now on a stand and have peace of mind.

Don't cheap out. Really, don't cheap out. Get BMW (Genuine) OEM parts. A lot of people complain about Victor Reinz products and lesser quality parts. You either pay for it now or you pay for it later, unless you don't plan on keeping the car very long after the swap. Here's a thread from a week ago complaining about this: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=394723

Spend some time looking at build threads. The good threads, that are doing 24v swaps, will show you what people are replacing and what they are running into.

Oh, and you'll need this or something like this for when you're doing the valve cover gasket:https://www.ecstuning.com/ES1967642/

Hmm i may have screwed up by just sending a email the their contact sales email. Ol dude (not sure if dave) is saying (if i plan to boost things) i should get ARP head studs + their VR hg kit (no elring kit available) + and OE HG and just toss the VR HG or sell it. Now i do want to boost the car eventually and have no problem installing the ARP head studs, but i was under the impression that the OE Headstuds can handle up to 500 reliably. Truthfully if i boost the car im not looking to go much higher than then low to mid 400s. Also I was under the impression to avoid VR if i could. Let me know what yall think.

You're probably talking to Steve, who knows his stuff. I would follow his recommendation. VR is fine for everything but the HG.
