Installing S52 in Engine Bay with Crank Pulley?

I have seen a couple pictures of people installing the engine and trans with the crank pulley removed. Is this necessary? Can it not be dropped in with the crack pulley installed? Thanks very much!

It does not need to be removed, just gives you a little more room.

I have found that it's easiest to install these engines with the power steering pump removed. You gain quite a bit more clearance at the core support by doing this.

Crank pulley was left on during my swap, that part went in fine. I did pull the AC compressor and bracket. Also really helps if you have a load leveler between the engine and hoist so you can crank it to get a good angle.

I loaded mine in with turbo manifold, power steering, and ac bracket no problem. The key is having a few friends help and a load leveler

I put mine in with everything except for the AC compressor.
