ZF Transmission and driveshaft don't work

I'm using a ZF out of an E39 528i, and I have an ETA big guibo driveshaft, but the two don't seem to mate up. I thought these were a direct fit for each other? Or is it because the ZF is coming out of an e39 rather than a e36 that's making the difference? Thanks

Looks like the output flange are the same exact part number on the E36 and E39.

Update: How weird. I have one of the very few ETA's that had a small size (110mm) guibo. PO was meticulous with his maintainence records and I can't find anything that points to the transmission being swapped or the driveshaft/output flange being swapped out in it's past life. How about that.

Yes. The big flex disc (LK=96mm) started in 5/86, so earlier etas had the LK=78mm flex disc.
