    m50 pricing

I know of a local guy who just wrecked his '92 e36 and he is going to part it out. the car has 240,xxx miles on it but he says that he thinks the motor was replaced. He said the car still pulls great and dosen't miss a beat. What do you think i should offer? I don't know for sure if the motor has been replaced but it wouldn't matter because i would rebuild it anyway. I also wouldn't buy the tranny...i would just get the motor and wiring harness. Is $200 fair or is that too high/low? Thanks

Sure, if it isn't too much of a hassle $200 is fair. You can take the M50 manifold and DME and sell that off for like $200, but the rest of the engine isn't worth much, and a rebuild is very pricey. You are seriously better off finding an M50 or M50 TU with like 100K on it and paying a few hundred extra for it, and just using it instead of messing around with rebuilding crap.

Hey Fred, how's your engine swap coming? I should drive my e30 down sometime and check it out

It's coming along! I buttoned up my engine, and I gotta hook up the trans then mount it in the engine bay, then wire it up.
