    driveshaft question- S52 swap

    I am putting an S52 with ZF 5pd in a 1986 325e.
Keeping original rear diff for now.
My original driveshaft has 4 bolts while ZF trans has 3 bolts.
Do I need to replace the entire drive shaft?
I purchased the Revshift e30 flex disk but it also has holes for 6 bolts.

It best to stay away from the flex disc unless it is a dedicated track car, it will be super stiff and create tons of vibration and noise.

You need to find a driveshaft from a 328i or an E36 M3 that has the same transmission.

Four bolt rear, three bolt front. I believe the late model E30 325e driveshaft also fits here. You'll need to use the E30 centre support bearing too, regardless of which driveshaft you pick.

The flex disk always has 6 holes because the transmission bolts into 3, then the driveshaft is "offset", or rotated, to bolt in to the other 3.
