    Injectors -- S52 with M50 intake manifold

Hi all -- I have an OBD1 S52 with M50 intake manifold, long-tube headers, and a cone filter and I was wondering what the pros and cons of upgrading to 24lb/hr injectors would be. I would, of course, give the ecu an appropriate tune so that it wouldn't run super rich. Would there be any appreciable effects in power, reliability, emissions, fuel economy, etc? I plan to give the engine some mild valvetrain upgrades in the future so I figured the fuel delivery headroom would be nice, but if it comes with disadvantages for the time being then I'd rather hold off.

    Thanks in advance!

If you have 21.5’s currently, you’ll be fine. I was at the same crossroad you were. I have a obd-1 s52 fully bolted with cams. Both Riot Racing and TRM tuning assured me that 21.5’s would be fine. I haven’t dyno’d yet but I have no indication that I’m having fuel issues.

Yeah. if you are not running out of injectors, there is zero difference on swapping bigger ones. Same with MAF. If the airflow is still in it's measuring range, there is zero gains having bigger MAF. If you need more power, you need to upgrade the cams.
