E30 M50 Non Vanos erratic idle

Have you checked the wiring between the MAF and the ECU? Do you have an aftermarket performance chip in the ECU?

The engine idles erratically with MAF plugged in, and idles perfect with it disconnected. So i replaced the MAF with a brand new one and no change. I tried a different ICV that i know is working and even a different TPS and i even tried a another DME with no luck. I also checked for vacuum leaks and there are none. Worst case i'll just run it without the MAF. Any help on what might be causing this is appreciated.
