I just bought a used great condition e32 735 brake booster. I also bought a new e34 m5 bmc and it looks the same as the e32 735's, is there any difference? I tried fitting it in the car, but the shaft is too long and doesn't mate up with the brake pedal, or if i hook the brake pedal in, the booster wont mount up. Did others who used the e32 735 brake booster have this problem, and what do I do about it?

It might be that you have to chop & weld the shaft. I think it was 1 1/4" I chopped off my E21 booster - I'd have to go check my crib notes.
Anyhow, you got access to a welder? I see one in your future.
It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you. -
I had to cut about an inch or so off the arm on my e32 booster. took 5 minutes.

I figured an easier way of doing it out. I just swapped the end piece that connects to the brake pedal off the e30 brake booster with the one on the e32, fits perfect without cutting.Comment

Mine was too short when I tried that. Nice work though.:p
