    m50 cranck and rod tolerances

i noticed there's a bit of cranckshaft play in my m50 bottom end (the crank moves back and forth along its length), maybe a 1/10mm. also the rods play a little on the rod journals (is this a correct term?).
its odd because the cranckshaft is ok ( i measured a main journal and a rod journal and they were as round as they can be) and the engine was running fine. the main bearing shells were ok also.

i have no idea if this is ok or not (logically taken it cant be )

Per my BMW TIS CD, axial crankshaft play should be 0.080 mm to 0.163 mm. So, your .1 mm should be okay.

Radial conrod play should be 0.020 mm to 0.055mm. You'll have to plastigage to make sure.

    Hope that helps.
