    M50 and S50 DME interchangeable

does anyone know if the m50 413 dme can be swapped with the S50 413 dme?

could i use the 413 dme from an M3 into my m50 system? has anyone done/tried this?

i'm getting parts for my 2.9L upgrade and last bit would be the engine management system, and i don't think i'll go with AA chip as its abit over my budget too

      trent,

does that mean that i can order an M3 tuned chip and use it in my m50 413 DME?

i have heard that M3 chips will not work on m50 413 DME, although they are the same

a 413 dme is a 413 dme. I have used both 2.5 and 3.0L chips with no problems. Stock and aftermarket. I am using a red label.

What about m52/s52 interchangeability, both with each other and with s50/m50 units?

            Whats the question?

Nobody uses M52 or S52 ECUs in e30s.

So is there any benefit to the M3 chip? Ex: Higher redline, better fuel maps ect

I bought a non EWS 413 DME from a M50 E34... Do I need to change the stock chip to an M3 one for my S50?

Quit acting like you're doing a motor swap. Go play in the the m20 kiddies area.

Yes, Matt. You need a stock non-ews chip for an S50.
