    E30 clutch with S50 flywheel?

will it work? My guess is the pressure plate is different.

I searched btw, didn't come up with much.

i doubt it will. an m20 flywheel must be used with it same with a pressure plate.
its a good in a way since u can get the single mass lightened.

I know the clutch disk is interchangeable between e36s and e30s with the 228mm clutch. I went through this with a guy at clutch net. I am assuming the flywheel/PP is different because I hear people using the m20 flywheel on the m/s 50s when they swap and still use the 260 gearbox.

i know that an e30 228mm clutch will fit a lightened s50 flywheel.

the s50 flywheel is like $20 cheaper than an m42 flywheel.

I know of a few e36 318's using M3 flywheel and clutch setups. I was under the impression that it would work in the e30 as well.

What did you have interference with?

nope. I'm building up an M42 but I figured I'd ask in this forum. I had the chance to get a JB flywheel for an S50 at a good price but I guess i'll just go with a single mass m20 wheel.

if you want to do the e36 tranny then do it. But the e30 m3 pressure plate should be good for way more then what you need. Plus the rotational mass in closer in.

Not all S50 alu flywheel/clutch combos fit in the 318 trans. Mine didn't. Had to swap to the e36 325 trans.
