since we are sorta on the same topic of trannies i will chime in. ive found out through my swap work that the getrag 240 outta the e30 318iS WILL WORK!!!.....it same shares alot of the internals with the getrag 260 if your worried about strength issues...i still wouldnt use it with an s50/s52 IMO....but yes it bolts up to the m50 block PERFECTLY(even oil pan bolts line up) and works. only draw back is the all of the shift linkage may have to be custom..however i didnt really try mixing and matching shifter & selector rods but the e36 318i linkage might work....other then that you will need:
-e30 5spd "I" driveshaft
-euro e21 323i TOB (if you plan on using single mass)
-a s3.73...well this is what im using
