Vehicle Speed Sensor

Does anyone know of an alternative source to tap into the vehicle speed sensor other than the green plug(s) on the back of the instrument cluster?

I'm installing a Stack instrument cluster so using the stock cluster for the signal is no longer an option.

The signal comes from the differential doesn't it? The sensor isn't part of the cluster is it? Should be able to tap the sensor wire from the diff.

That's what I was thinking. I think I identified the sensor wire into the cluster last night but between it being too late to start/drive the car (it's loud) and my multimeter battery dying, I couldn't verify it. I guess I was just looking for some reassurance that the raw signal would work without use of the cluster.
