Help: Transmission Brace for Getrag 260

Heres my modified stock brace :






Compared to the stock brace here you can really see what needs to be done to get the right angle .
Just flatten down the pass side and raise up the drivers side the same amount .

A buddy of mine who runs a CNC machine has thought about mapping up a design and making a few copies .

Stock e30 manual driveshaft. e36 Getrag gearbox.

I did that and even though I put a bend in the shifter rod, it still rubs the vibration damper in 1st,5th and reverse.

perfect solution. this is exactly what i did. it keeps the output shaft in the same location as stock (not tilted up which creates a bend in the ds.) cheers, jason

if you fab up the brace for the getrag260, do you use e30 tranny mounts???

use whatever mounts u want, but I would use e30 mounts, at least I did.

why oh why isnt there a CNC guy on these forums who can make up this pieces...it really is pretty simple to have fabbed up. too bad that chris guy who made the custom shift knobs turned out to be a huge flake.

Any hints as to what mounts work, Trent? I think you said possibly an early 6 series mount and a 325 auto mount.

For the driverside, I used 23 71 1 175 732, it has the perfect angle. :) Almost any small mount will work on the passenger side....some of the early 6ers with big engines and trans only used 1 mount. It is a good stiff mount. I only ran this one mount for months.
