260 Transmission Brace - production begins

I'll make a transmission support for the Getrag 260 for anyone interested.

I ordered 5 stock supports to begin with. They should be here in the next few days and it will take me a couple more to modify them.

    Pricing as follows:
    $75.00 with your core
add $20.00 if you don't have a core to contribute
shipping charges will be @ cost (no "handling" "packaging" or other crap)

You don't need to clean up your core as it will be bead blasted and repainted anyway.

I used e21 transmission mounts for mine and they are great - very robust. If you DON'T want to use e21 mounts, please let me know because I'll need to know what size holes to drill for you.

Both sides of the stock support will be modified as shown so there's no pinched mount on the passenger side.

      I'm in as well. :D

Would using E30 mounts change the bracket shape or just the hole diameter?

In a couple words, this brace is needed if one was to use a 260 with m50 swap, correct ?

True. :) I'd rather use my urethane E30 mounts if possible though.

It can be done without one, but this modified brace simplifies things slightly.

I made my support with the e21 mounts because they are fairly cheap and very strong.

I don't think what mount you use will matter but how about this - I will buy the stock mounts tomorrow and install them this weekend. I have a lift so it won't take long to do. I'll take some measurements and see if there are any problems. Will that be O.K. with everyone? I can take a few pics too if you'd like.

If anyone wants to use yet another mount, let me know and we'll see what we can do.

In this picture, the e21 mount is on the left.

                      Thanks for your interest!

See if you can pull it off with the stock mount. Becuase most m20 guys already have poly mounts.

                            not true

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

If your car sees somewhat heavy track days then you should have them. :)
