I took the caliper to the pan, measured everything and it is indeed the cutouts, the fins are fine. I cut them down and it fits great now. The left side looks gimpy because of the corner I broke off last time I tried to make it fit frantically while the silicone on the gasket dried. New gaket on the way...

Having just done this I'd say you didn't remove the windage tray from the block of your e36 M50.

Don't be an idiot. If I was as stupid as you'd like to believe, making the cutouts deeper would not have solved my problem.

^^^he doesnt understand, that sometimes EVEN with that stupid bracket for the old e36 sump AND the e36 tray removed that there will still be fitment issues with getting the e34 oil pan on...there was no other way BUT to shave dem fins.

Yeah but just for people like him I posted the goddamn pictures comparing the two types of pans, and explained it, and STILL... I guess some folks just get off on feeling that they are so much smarter than everyone else.

Thanks for your input by the way, if it wasn't for you guys confirming that I'm not indeed the only one that has had this problem, I'd probably still be measuring things, trying to convince myself that I DON'T need to cut.

WOW, I was in no way shape or for condescending in my response to you, you're mighty fucking arrogant for someone who is asking people for help. Espescially since you've got ORCA and the a TON of information on here in other threads. Who's getting off on acting high and mighty here, you. You take the juvenile route and start talking a bunch of shit. Grow up.

I'm mighty fucking arrogant? I do have the ORCA CD, I've rewritten it, memorized it and followed every mother fucking step, then your douchebag ass comes in and starts telling me I haven't done this and that like I'm a goddamn child. Yes I'm asking for help but rest assured, you can spare me yours. I posted pictures for retards like you to make it clear what the problem is, yet you see an opportunity to shine your brilliance for all of us idiots out there. Thanks but no thanks. It may seem like an overreaction but anyone that's ever had a real problem that they are stuck on (NOT one of failing to follow instructions), would understand how shit like this really gets to you.

                          That's rude! lol

Well the pan is back on and torqued, I can't wait to put this thing in the brick. But the first track day must be done with the eta (plus I can't get myself to pull a running engine, I'll do my best to murder it first). I come over all funny at the thought of a 3.2 DOHC in an E30!

Nowhere in the entire fucking thread did you ever make reference to the windage tray until you blew up at me. You're a whiney fuck with sand in your vagina.

Mine fit great. There are two different part numbers for them, that might be part of the issue. I don't remember which one I got.

Not a very helpful post, I know, but I meant well.
