    Flywheel question.

just to clarify, if im using my current get260 for my s50 swap, then im to go with an e30 single mass flywheel and e30 clutch? is this the ideal setup when using the get260 with an s50?

    could i use an e36 dual mass + e36 clutch with a getrag260? thanks for any info!~

Even so, why anyone would 'want' to use a dual mass flywheel is beyond me.

Horrible things that are to be avoided at all cost imo.

            An S50 will eat e30 clutches. 240mm>228mm

Pretty much any clutch/flywheel combo will work in pretty much any transmission.

It's stupid to hate dual mass flywheels. Aside from being heavy, they don't really have a downside.

Use the stock S50 clutch/flywheel with the 260.

Hell ya dude, I bulked up like 20 lbs of chest muscle by putting two S50 flywheels on opposite ends of a 45 lb bar at the gym.

EDIT: oh yeah, MATT, you have a JB Racing flywheel. So. Too good for dual mass? :finger:

Actually, I decided it wasn't worth it and sold it for about what I paid plus an S52 stock flywheel.

If my car was going to stay NA for a long time, I would have kept it.

okay... how about a single mass e30 flywheel with an s50 clutch? i just want whatever is best for the long run. would the sachs heavy duty clutch for an e30 last longer than an s50 clutch?

That won't work because the E30 flywheel accepts only 228mm friction discs as Matt mentioned.

The S50 clutch disc is 240mm.

                      www.racersmarket.net FTW.

This summer, I think. As soon as I'm pulling down enough bank to pay off my credit cards I'll put away a little cash for a turbo.

I'm not sure about E30 FW with M50 clutch.

If I were you, I would make it easy. If you have an E30 flywheel, use the E30 clutch.

I would use E36 stuff on the 260 since you have an S50.

I have a Euro S50B32 flywheel which are lighter than the stock S52 flywheels if anyone is interested. It's about halfway between a dual mass and a JBRacing one.
