      air box

Static, That's a good idea that your running with . What I was trying to do in fitting that lower box, was that I looked at it as a static pool of air to be drawn from, also the most direct inlet for incoming air. I know how tight that area is we're working in. I'll get some finishing pics up today ,more food for thought . Your set up is going to look really trick! joe

        Thanks

actually i was a bit disappointed yesterday when i tried to fit it again. My ABS is in stock location (i just got rid of some fins that were coliding with the abs lines) and i also got rid of that tab that holds the smaller coolant hose that goes towards the engine side - it was interfering with the box quite a bit. I can see you also moved that hose over on the other side of the a/c box holder - good thinking.
So now it's a bit better but still no cigar. I HAVE to mod up the upper piece to clear my rad hose. I think your hose nipple is higher up that the one on stock 325 rad. But i don't see it as a big endeavor.

that looks good, I may have to copy this. Now spray that with some trim paint and call it a day.

anyone try the M42 stock airbox? I think Chuck90m3 did, but I can't find any details on how to make it fit.

                              Hey guys,
                              Nice work, very clean.
Just a thought, has anyone tried a heatgun to mould the airbox into shape? I know this works with some plastics, and wanted to try it myself. Would be prefect for clearing the rad hose with the lid.
Also, this is probably obvious, but I thought this airbox was only on the E32 7 series. Does it also come on the 5's? Which ones (E28/34?)?
This is my first post, so thanks for reading!

on e34 535i AFAIK, i think on e28 they are different, look at realoem.com
Don't think heat bending will work. This plastic is designed to be close to exh manifolds on a 535i (on the other side)
