What downpipes are you using? I'm using OBD2 headers on an M52...

Should I get OBD1 or OBD2 down pipes? I will make my own exhaust, but time budget keeps me from making my own down pipes...

obd2 should be theoretically better as well as fit better to obd2 manifolds.
obd2 downpipes = double wall (retain temperature better as well as quieter) as well as being true dual.
Search to find about how people fit them (i think you need some bending)

i used all obd 1 stuff but the down pipes shouldnt be that much different. The only difference in size is in the o.d not i.d. so they dont flow any better than the obd 1 stuff but like static said they should be quieter and hold heat better.

i made 4 welds per pipe going inbetween the manifolds and the stock e30 cat section. I have plenty of clearance for everything. At least 1/2 inch in all spots.

I think for my nv m50 motor it was the best/easiest/cheapest way to go. I dont think the e30 exhaust is holding it back. Ill upgrade the exhaust when theres a turbine infront of it.

I have the obd2 ones but one the front one wants to hit the sway bar so I may have to put some washers or something under the ps motor mount to raise it up a tad so it can fit. Thats a common prob right?
