    vanos units? and OBD2 questions.

i searched so dont say it.

i was wondering if the vanos units on different motors are all the same? like would a m50 vanos unit fit an s52? or whats the deal?

also, in detail.. what is needed to swap to obd1 on an s52. parts wise and any other tips or tricks.. yada yada. thanks in advance.

All vanos units are the same, but the solenoids are different. OBDII solenoids have a shorter lead.

The OBDII conversion has been covered, in detail, many times. Search and you will find it. (On bimmerforums.)

Yeah, but you can just extend the leads on the OBDII solenoid and it works. :)

      Thats what I did.

I've looked at the OBD1 and OBD2 solenoids closely. They are functionally identical except for the wiring. Interchange them as much as you want.
