    Oil level sender light

I have decided that i really dont need that oil level idiot light so I am going to be replacing it with an oil temp sensor.

But i dont want that retarded light to stay on. How should i get it to turn off? would grounding bot the wires do it?

Also how waffleswaffleswaffles sthat light know when to turn on? Say if i wanted to use it for another kind of warning light what signal would each wire need to turn on the light?

    thanks

Replace the drain plug like everyone else and keep it. It has saved me before.. It comes on when you are a quart low.

              It looks something like this:

It replaces your drain plug with a oil temp sender. I have been running one just like this in my turbo car for over a year. Bav Auto and Parker Performance sells them for BMWs.

welll the point is that i dont want the sender.... dont need the sender. That spot can be used for better things... i just want to know how to turn the light on and off...

What better things? Wiring up the idiot light is simple (it is then useable and it goes off), and you can use the temp drain plug for your other requirement.

It's always better to have more information...

Ok so WTF is this thread about? I thought it was the oil LEVEL sender and getting the light on the CHECK PANEL off, how the fuck did you guys get on oil temp senders that would need a separate gauge?

2nd most retarded thread on r3v this year.

The reason why backtrail suggested that is because the OP said he wanted an oil temp gauge and he was going to remove teh oil level sender. The obvious better solution is the drain plug.

Now, the OP is too cool for school and doens't want to keep the idiot light.

A thread is only as good as its poster.
