That is an IX booster . I installed mine then I installed my motor , then I removed the IX booster and installed a modified 944 booster . better fit and your master that was allready in your car working bolt ups . The pedal is kind of hard so I will have to add a reserve canister but I not have a few MM clearance to the manifold and with the IX I was touching with shaved fins !

e34 530i looks like the right one, but doesn't fit. That may be what you have.

The more I look at it, it looks like it's right...

            Where's the issue?

Maybe are you confusing the booster with the master cylinder? The booster looks right, the master is weird.

The master cylinder in the pic is fine also.

                  hi,
i sold the booster back in december and it was off a 90ix i parted, even took the rear driveshaft off the car and sold it to vivalagreg when he was looking for one since he was local that time:

anyway,i replied via e mail to fix the problem then i saw this post.
that is the same booster i sold(now painted) and it's definitely an ix booster as i have one off a 540 too-thinking i sent it by mistake but, apparently not.....
here are some pic for comparison w/ a 540 booster vs the ix-same dual chamber but, shorter rod for the 540 and longer ix rod...
left is ix,right is 540(shorter rod but same dual chamber)

this one right is ix booster:

                  top is ix:

                  left is ix:

in conclusion the booster i sold is an ix and i'm 110% sure of it, as i took it off a 1990 alpine white 4 door auto ix.....

apology accepted-last thing i would do is screw someone on here-we're all fellow e30 enthusiasts and it almost becomes a brother/sisterhood as i've met a lot of nice e30 folks who've been very helpful....
this is my next set up on my e30m3 s52 swap:"
ix booster,540 mc and remote reservoir:

i'll be using a stand alone reservoir for the clutch-i heard the one's on the dsm's would work....
it'll be a totally separate system for the clutch and brakes....

use a clutch res for the same car you got the booster out of. e34 6spd has the remote clutch res. worked perfectly with the mounting bracket for my car. cheers, jason

I used a 2002 brake fluid reservior, with an integrated clutch output. I'll have them up on the TRM site when I get a chance to take some pictures. I think they look great.

Anyway, I'm glad it all worked out for ya... I thought they looked right.
