Your O2 sensor and knock sensors and MAF are all suspect.
Chips don't adjust anything based on octane. If it detects knock events, it pulls timing. It then puts it back, until it detects more knock events. No permanent or temporary "correction" factor is applied to prevent knock. (unlike O2 sensor feedback)
Every sensor is new from BMW when I did the obd 2 to 1 conversion .Comment

No code in it . I called turner they checked the chip to my specs no conflicts. I tried it with zero air filte rthinking it may be to small no change . Installed a can of 104 octane boost no change . I will order a sensor in the morning hope they stock it ! . I also installed a power steering cooling and it seems to have corrected the steering issue .will advise in a few days .Comment

OH It's pinging no ? .
Let me mention one more thing I am running the OB2 valve cover I basicly matted the factory OBD2 pvc hose to the OBD1 pvc hose so in a sense I am running no PVC valve . I know the valve on the OBD1 system is at the valvre cover connection and on the OBD2 in under the intake could this cause it to ping not to have a PVC valve ?Comment

I have this same issue, but I was hoping it was just the IAT. If it's not, it must be the turner chip because we both have it along with the euro/540 hfm and 24lb injectors.
I'm thinking the chip was originally intended for a 3.0 and isn't working well with my 3.2.E30 Wiki: e30dohc.com/wikiComment

Maybe a quick drive up to Amesbury is warrantied. You are positive it's pinging? and not something else making noise?Comment
