    No Start.

Well i put everything together and got ready to start it up, no go.

I believe i have all the harness cable on right. I used the e30 starter cable, and then to the altenater. Yes the engine is grounded and i get 12v to the power cable on the starter. I dont get power to the Starter/Unloader Relay (pin 15 on both/Black Green) and no power to the Voltage While Starting (pin 18 on both/Black Yellow)

i jumped power from another source and the starter does work (its also my original starter from the m20). tried different relays with no luck too. does the start go though the DME? just dont know where to start!

    Heres my pin Layout:

Is it cranking when you're trying to start it? From what I've seen you wiring is good or should be good enough to get the car running so check the the relays to see if they're all working, then check for fuel/spark. Does the fuel pump prime when in the Acc position? from there check if your Crank Position Sensor is dead. Thats another possible cause for a No Start.

well, the problem is that there is no starter movement at all. I have been looking at the ETM and i think it may be the k7 underloader relay. i have power to fuse 10 but no power anywhere else for the black/green and black/yellow.

Main relay seems good. the DME doesnt control the starter, right?

Yup it doesnt. Check out those unloader relays and everything starter related in the ETM. I'm sure after you sort it out that nice kleen motor of yours is going to fire right up.

          G'luck!

What ECU are you using? Did you disable the EWS?
I'd guess the EWS is your problem.

its out of a 11/92 car with vanos. Tried new underload relays, nothing.

does the ignition switch itself get power?

we fought with an ignition switch issue on our race car and ended up going through like 3 switches, and it would only start if you hit it correctly.

Same thing with our car. Everything worked except for the start position.

Before you tackle the igintion switch, did you check all of your grounds, battery voltage and shizz to see if they're all clean? check that as well. Just a suggestion.

Billy, sorry I didn't call you back last night. I didn't hear the text message sound on my phone!

Anyway, I just thought of something. Have you wired up the automatic-to-manual-transmission swap wires? Check this post by Mike B.

I used it when I did my swap because like you, my car was an auto.
