    Odometer Inaccurate

I just got my )BDI S52 swap running and driving yesterday(e34 harness, 413 DME), and I noticed that the odometer is running quite a bit faster than it should. I'm not too concerned about the fact that I'm running my mileage up but I'd like to figure out the problem so I can accurately calculate fuel economy and oil change intervals. The vehicle speed on the speedometer does not seem to be effected. Just wondering if anyone has any insight into this problem. Thanks.

Yeah, I am dumb. I checked it with GPS and against mileposts last night. It's right on. I guess I've just been driving it a lot more than I thought.

I searched the treads and this has come as close as I can get to my problem. My odometer and trip meter are reading 3x what I am traveling. I can not wrap my head around why this or how this could be happening. Anyone have any ideas?

If you mix up some wiring on the connector from the motor harness to the body harness you can have that happen. When I first got my car together I had the wiring for the tach and whatever drove the trip odo mixed up. Double check things as lots of those wires are the same color.

On a different slant to this, I was asked if my circuit would also adjust speedometer inaccuracy for larger wheelsets. It won't, but I thought there are plenty on the market that do that.

After some more digging, I found that those all cost $200 or so. I kinda pissed about that so I'm ordering a few chips and I'll play with making a speedometer correction circuit when I have time. It would be much, much less!
