Or you can buy a 240mm clutch & flywheel from metric mechanic that will fit inside the G245 bell housing. Your other option is to use a 228mm flywheel & clutch but it will only hold about 225 ft-lbs before it slips, so you'll need a heavy duty clutch."

how do you know a 240mm clutch wont fit in a g240? i believe you, i'm just curious. i'm just trying to minimize misinformation on the forums. personal experience is infinitely better than "oh i think i read somewhere, or my friend told me..." :D
You sound so sure its gonna work, so go do it. Don't criticize the people who are trying to help you for trying to help.

if you don't believe me go look on m42club or better yet try and fit one in there yourself. Yes the Getrag 260 was made for a 228mm setup but the bellhousing is large enough to fit the 240mm. The Getrag 240 is a much smaller than the getrag 260.

so it's impossible to use an e36m3 clutch/flywheel in a getrag 240? i just bought a JB Racing aluminum flywheel with a 240mm friction surface that i was really hoping to use in a getrag 240..
