Also, talk to Donovan (BMWSOB) on BF.c or on the Tech.
He has a turbo'd M52 that runs low 11's that is running on MS2.My 2.9L Build!

Its all good matt, I've been readin about both sides so I understand where ur comin from, I respect that, its all good. Thanks for having the self restraint unlike most people to not turn it into a shit fest, I appreciate it.Comment

I just made a plug and play harness for my MS2 using a dead motronic, so swapping the plugs (MS2/Motronic) takes 5 seconds.
also M20 run much smaller compression ratio (9:1), so they won't knock easily. M52 has 10.5:1 AFAIKComment

Are you sure Donovan's actually taken the car to the strip since it's had the M52 in it? Last I knew, the car hadn't actually made it there yet, and he's still trying to get it running right.Comment

Yes, yesterday there was a private track rental at MIR and I saw a video of him run. He managed a 1.67 60' and crossed the line at like 123 or something. My 2.9L Build!

yes, it is possible to tune it and it is also a more stable hardware platform. But you cannot tinker with the proprietary software/hardware of motronic (there is no knowledge/docs in the open about that), also one would learn a whole bunch more about EFI by going MS(1/2) and DIY the whole thing. So if you want to spend time to figure out every little detail and learn a bunch in the process, and have a reliable daily always available to save your a$$ in case things don't work, go MS2. Otherwise stick with motronic.

Yes I know the m20 has lower compression, but I'm not interested in an m20, I wanna do a swap for the fun of it. Something to stand out from the crowd type of deal. Also build something that I can do myself without having to have others do the work.
The next car my buddy and I are building will be m20 megasquirt powered though...Comment
