Also, talk to Donovan (BMWSOB) on BF.c or on the Tech.
He has a turbo'd M52 that runs low 11's that is running on MS2.My 2.9L Build!

All the info on basic tuning of the 413 has been posted on BFC. Literally spelled out for anyone who wants to try it.
I just made a plug and play harness for my MS2 using a dead motronic, so swapping the plugs (MS2/Motronic) takes 5 seconds.
also M20 run much smaller compression ratio (9:1), so they won't knock easily. M52 has 10.5:1 AFAIK

Originally posted by static View Postyes, it is possible to tune it and it is also a more stable hardware platform. But you cannot tinker with the proprietary software/hardware of motronic (there is no knowledge/docs in the open about that), also one would learn a whole bunch more about EFI by going MS(1/2) and DIY the whole thing. So if you want to spend time to figure out every little detail and learn a bunch in the process, and have a reliable daily always available to save your a$$ in case things don't work, go MS2. Otherwise stick with motronic.

Yes I know the m20 has lower compression, but I'm not interested in an m20, I wanna do a swap for the fun of it. Something to stand out from the crowd type of deal. Also build something that I can do myself without having to have others do the work.
The next car my buddy and I are building will be m20 megasquirt powered though...
