Couldn't take it, went straight to the car after the gym with new plugs and a purpose. I got the injectors in properly, replaced the plugs annnnd bupkus. No power at all. Freaked me out for a sec then I remembered I didn't tighten the battery junction yet and I must have knocked it off while changing the plug by the firewall. Indeed I did. Took a few cranks to get the fuel pressure back up and.... FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE!

I still can't believe I got my wiring and shit right on the first try. Still funny that I had to invent my own set of problems that no one's had. :P

Anyway, the 2nd failed start attempt from the weekend (the pshhhht sound you hear is fucking fuel jetting from the top of one or two injectors)

    And today:

The check engine light BEFORE cranking just indicates that the ECU is in place and has software and power.

I love it when another swap comes to life. There's nothing like hearing that engine come to life with open headers. It's a great feeling of accomplishment.

                          Nice work!

                            Killer D!

You beat me to getting our motors running too, ya bastid! Ha!

Very cool & glad you got it on the first shot with the wiring!

I won't have mine going until after the holidays, but you make me want to go work on mine right now. Awesome work, man.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

Thanks a lot guys! Still feels kinda surreal today. The closer I got to this point, the more I dreaded it because I realized more and more how many things could be wrong and what a huge pain it would be to debug (I'd probably give up on it for the winter if I had to take it apart).

Under 10k Canadian (the old value), including the car, all swap bits (engine, tranny, clutch, driveshaft, exhaust, diff, cluster, OBDI stuff etc etc) and suspension bits (wheels, tires, H&R race, Koni SA, all urethane bushings, camber plates etc).
