I can not get my m50 to run in a closed loop. The o2 sensor is reading .5 or whatever the bottom of the voltage range is, and it is brand new. The only other code I have is the air temperature sensor which is reading 162C, I will replace that this week, could that be making it run in a open loop. What do the 2 female connectors on the o2 sensor harness need to be connected to?
stuck in open loop!

Thanks, I have been trying to figure that out for awhile. Is there any other variable with the o2 sensor that would be causing this, like the preheat relay or any wiring that was supposed to be done during the swap?
Thanks again MattComment

Not that I know of... the O2 sensor seems to hook up just to the M50 harness. Did you wire it properly? White to white, black to black, and the two grays can go either way since the heater is a resistive element.
Now... having wildly "off" values of the other sensors might prevent the DME from going into closed loop... not sure. I'll ask Mike when I get a chance.Comment

All I did was screw the o2 connector to the harness as you would when replacing a o2 sensor in an e36Not that I know of... the O2 sensor seems to hook up just to the M50 harness.
