    ASC delete

My M50 motor out of a '94 has ASC. So to remove it...

Do I just remove the secondary throttle body and get a non-ASC boot?

Clip the wires and connectors that went to it?

Also, the harness has the usual diagnostics connector on the passenger side and X-20 near the fuse box, but what is the second X-20 connector near the fuses for? Is that peculiar to ASC motors? Again, do i just snip it?

    Who has run into this?

    Thanks, Hoveringuy

Second connector is for the auto tranny. You can follow those wires and pull them out of the harness to clean it up some. On the ASC, just remove it and get a non-ASC boot.

      It had a 5 speed.

My understanding of the ASC is that it was an option on the '94 cars. It closed the secondary throttle when it sensed wheel spin and it didn't involve the DME computer at all.

Could that second connector be an ASC connector?

Do the harnesses normally have that second connector??
