    Name this bracket..

I can't figure out what mounts here, I'm out of parts to put back on the motor. It's on the left side right above where the start mounts.

    Anyone?

The bracket at the end of the red marker an engine lift point--you thread a large bolt through the manifold into that fat metal bracket. Nothing attaches to it.

Ahhhh that makes sense now...Thats why theres that break in the manifold so the bolt can go through.

            FredK is sooo cool.

I was looking through my box of parts for the large piece that fits there, trying to remember what I missed. Thanks Fred!

One of my knock sensors looks like that, too. Is that reason to replace? Almost all the ones I've seen at the junkyard look like that. I don't know if that will keep it from working or not. I think it will still work, it's a pziezo crystal inside the metal donut.

i (along with quite a few people with m50/s50) kept getting 1226 CE code. I am pretty sure that's what was causing it. (didn't get 1225 though, so i assume the sensor #1 still worked, not sure how well though)

yea, i had a knock sensor fault for a few months after swapping. it was interesting because i installed a chip with the bum sensor and ran 93 octane. car didnt have much balls down low, but vanos was like an on/off switch. After installing the new sensor car ran so much better.
