    Heater to work better !

    My heater won't kick out a lot of heat like I think it should. I've done the 24v ,got the hoses correctly installed, installed 189 deg thermostat . I think it used to work great ?(with the m20) .Could I have a heater control valve that is lazy ?? Sometimes everthing works and the heat pumps out ! What's up ?? It's going to be 29 degs and this is Florida !! Help joe

    when you installed the swap you had to bend the pipes down correct? if so you could have kinked the pipes. atleast this is what ive done and now i get piss heat, but i just wear gloves and 2 jackets lol. pretty much if thats the case then your screwed, beause im pretty sure it would be an enormace bitch to replace the pipes with hat engin ein there.

      if theres heat when the car is idling and minimal (or no heat) above 2k rpms.....heater core lines backwards. i know you said you got them correct, but ive personally made this mistake 3-4 times. what does your temp gauge say? cheers, jason

          Poor Heater output

          Thanks, The temp gadge is in the center, hoses are installed correctly,and pipes not kinked (I was very carefull). Heat volumne is generally low but at times it does have great output likes expected . I thinking lazy heater control valve ,Is this comon ?? joe

            I'm about to do this and dont want to screw it up!
            Which one's the spider hose?
            I would assume inlet is to the valve, right?

              ^^ i would also like to know this. there's two hoses coming from the engine (side and back) and two hoses going to the heater core (one ontop, one below) which goes where

              also what does the temp gauge have to do with these? mine is not reading anything and i thought the reading came from the radiator sensor

              ...and lastly what happens if these are reversed?

                The hose coming from the rear is the feed to the heater core;

                But I'm still not sure which line to go into the core, top or bottom. The bottom line has the valve on it, so I'd be tempted to go for that, but It'd be nice to get confirmation from someone.

                  On the M52, the metal pipe's rear port hooks up to hose 7. Hose 7 goes to top, hose 5 to bottom.

                    Any chance the heater control valve (the one right before the heater core) is stuck closed?

                    Closing SOON!

                      Heater valve

                      I'm thinking the heater valve is lazy because it puts out a little heat and If it wants it will almost work as expected .The temp gadge does not move off center because its working corrcectly. Anyone else ever have this problem?? joe
