OBD I and OBD II knock(ping) sensors

I need two new knock sensors for my M50tu, I keep finding OBDII sets available for cheap...the difference is that they use one connector for both as opposed to a connector for each one. Has anyone modified the OBDII ones to work with both connectors?

..my random question of the day.

I had the two side by side (OBD I and OBD II) thinking I could use the new one by wiring it to the older plug. The newer sensor uses an entirely diffent kind of cable and wiring from what I could see.

I have a single OBDI knock sensor with a crack in the plastic. I don't know if that will cause it to throw a code or not.

Hmm..I guess that shoots that idea down. I'm not sure about the plastic either, I guess I'll just be junkyard/ebay hunting for a little while.

If you can get the shielded wire with the plug all the way to the ecu then you should be able to replace the obdi wire/plugs. That's what I've got.

Or just buy some shielded cable and run your own.
