well, had to break apart the entire bell housing to get to the pressure plate bolts off, then the entire tranny came off with the pressure plate and clutch disk stuck to the tranny. the clutch was seized somehow...we dont know it happened, and the clutch is really stuck to the tranny, we are gonna have to hammer off the disk.
the tranny is toast of course, i will post up some pics of the tranny is a lil bit. dont know what went wrong. luckily i had an extra getrag260 sitting around that i can use.
some1 tell me what went wrong?? why did the clutch disk sieze up on the tranny imput shaft??Leave a comment:

Yeah sometimes there's a slight misalignment that makes it tough to pull the trans out. Just the right combo of supporting the weight of the trans with a jack so it's not being supported by the input shaft and swearing will make it come out.Leave a comment:

Hey Cary, that sucks. Are you going to be working on it tomorrow? I have school till noon, then I'm going to be heading to Concord probably in the early afternoon right after class...I may be down to come over and look confused with ya if you want any more help.
How far is it sliding off? Call me, or get on AIM later and lemme know.
Good luck man.Leave a comment:

Hope you get it out w/o pulling the motor ! But, if you end up pulling the motor with the tranny, I bet you'll be able to put it back in with your eyes closed ;)Leave a comment:

Are you sure you got all the bolts out? I just took the tranny off my s52 this weekend and noticed a little bolt right behind the back header. The little bolt holds the plate that gets sandwiched between the block and the bellhousing. It made the plate twist and jam on the dowels that come off the block.
Otherwise, the tranny came out smoothly though.Leave a comment:

oh man. one thing after another. its definately a tranny related problem. we cannot get the tranny to break loose from the block. its really stuck on there. we are prying the hell out of it where it seperated like 3mm. man, its really really on there. calling it a nite 1am. will be back at it around 9am.Leave a comment:

Sounds like you have a case of the same problem Jason (C3) had when he tried to fire up his car.Leave a comment:

its not in gear. i can turn the output shaft with the wheels off the ground easily.
i am pulling the tranny off in the car, it can be done, its just a bitch. i guess i will find out whats going on with the clutch when the tranny is out of the car.Leave a comment:
