the pump is supposed to prime for about 2-3seconds like 1990guy states
i'm not understanding the starter problem though. if its stuck see if by turning it manually by the crank lets it loose. hope you got a new starter though <- some major work on this engine for everything that must come out first!
S50 started, but a couple issues.

my fuel pump primes for about 3 seconds when the motor is cold. When it's not cold it doesn't seem to prime...but it starts everytime so I always assumed it was working properly. I have a TMS EWS delete chip with a silver 413 ECU and s50.
Can't help you with the flywheel, I'm using all e36 parts down there.Leave a comment:

can you turn the motor over by hand ie( put it in gear and push the car backwards) rock to car to un-jam the started
also what is you battery voltage...dead battery?Last edited by gregslow318i; 02-09-2008, 10:18 AM.Leave a comment:

ok. so the motor started for the first time 2nite, and on the first try.
HOWEVER, it only started twice, and now when i go to start it it just clunks loudly, and the starter doesnt crank, like its jammed or something??
second, is my fuel pump supposed to prime when the key is turned to start, but not cranked? i busted out the circuit tester, and the pump gets NO power in the fuse box or relay when i have the key turned to start, and as soon as i crank it they both get power and fuel DOES get to the motor. im running a silver label 413 w/ Matt's EWS delete chip if that matters. i know for sure with the m20 the pump DID prime with the key at start.
thanks for any info. im really concerned about the loud clunk, and lack of cranking.Last edited by golde30; 02-09-2008, 01:17 AM.Tags: None
