    IX booster (pre swap install)

I am going to use IX boster for my S52 swap but I would like to get the brakes sorted out first. Any issues with installing the booster while my M20 is in there?

I installed my 320 booster last week for the same reason. It was tight getting the old one out with the m20 in the way and I can't imagine the IX booster would be any easier to get back in.

i suggest you do it when there's no engine in the car...but yes you can do it with the M20 on it.

do the regular boosters (735i=IX=525 M50 Booster/MC) and make remote mount or porshe, 320i booster...or do what me and golde30 did, mod the IX booster to mount with no braket so to not have to remote mount the resevoir...my brakes feel amazing btw.
      No more e30s for me.

Do you have photos of your setup? I am going to use the IX booster, I dont like the idea of a remote resevoir so I guess i will be mod the IX booster

Similar to the 320i booster and prob with the porshe booster as well, you have to shorten the rod OR outright cut it, and weld the piece that hooks to the brake pedal where you want it...be careful not to burn the membrane from welding heat.

Then, notice how the IX booster hooks to the firewall bracket by two screws. Since you won't be using this bracket, you need to drill them into the firewall, again, measure, drill, painr/primer for rust prevention....bolt everything....done.

keep in mind this pic is just after i finished the swap = fugly

          happy moddin
