    Getrag 260 question

So, I plan on using my stock getrag 260 and 3.73 LSD for my swap. I understand that I can use the same driveshaft - but have to use a different support bracket?

If so, what is the reasoning behind this?

Also, what impact does my selection of motor mounts have on the placement of the motor?

You have to rotate the transmission 10 degrees, member DougSic sells a really nice brace for $75...

Yeah I saw that. Looks good. How does the rotation affect the shift linkage and slave?

It causes an irrecoverable error in the hydraulic boost manifold circuitry. I'd suggest flashing your 506 or 413 ROM to the latest firmware.

I already flashed it. I also reconfigured the manifold circuit board.

          What else?

PS Loan, the short of it is, the rotation does not affect the linkage or slave cylinder. It tilts the shifter, so you'll have to bend it back to level.

Does anyone running the 260 have a Z3-lever short shift kit installed? Is the angle worse, the same as, or better than with the stock (unbent) e30 shift lever?

If using the stock shifter, it will be ~10° to the right, unless bent back to the left.
From reading the miles and miles of short shifter posts, there does seem to a difference in angle with a Z3 lever, but it is not clear which direction and how much. Does the angle difference make the problem better or worse than stock? I also realize this may vary with choice of shift lever.

If no one here has done it, then I ask in the short shift discussion.

                    Cheers.

I've got a Gen I UUC/BLSS shifter in my car (1998 baby!), pretty close to being a Z3 shifter, and it's definetly shifted over a bit. I'll take some pics of it tonight, but it doesn't contact anything, and you can get into every gear with no issue.

I have a Z3 shifter. I twisted the rod to compensate for the 10 degree tilt and also had to bow it up slightly to clear the shaft.

                        Works great.
