    DME input voltage

I'm going to wire the A/C "fast idle" circuit trigger wire. I found a spare wire on the snowflake switch harness that gets voltage when A/C is selected on. I'm sure this is a dumb question but I'll ask anyway. The DME is supposed to take full voltage right? I dont want to fry anything.

    Thanks,

Yeah, I noticed when I took the DME out of my '90 is the snowflake had 2 wires that connected to the harness at the DME. I figured they were the fast idle signal and ??? (what's the second one??)

I didn't notice any similar connections pulling the DME out of the donor e36. Where does the A/C fast idle signal connect to the M50 DME? Does it?

        Cool.

To paraphrase, my Bk/Rd goes to pin 64.

Where did the pin 64 connect to the AC switch on the E36? Did the connection go through the X20?

Also, I still don't understand what the second AC signal does....

"The other wire is BK/VI and at C136 connects to VI/GY (Ac input) to the ecu, page 92 of the ETM"

        Is that a redundant wire?

A/C control on an E36 goes through the X20. I have no idea how to hook it up since I got rid of it.

I carefully disassembled my DME plug and cut the pin 64 wire. I spliced in to it and ran a short lead to the unused AC switch wire. I added a small plug so I could disconnect it should the need ever arise. I use uninsulated butt splices and heat shrink so everything is neat.
