    need help with oil pan installe

    i cant find out to fit it and just need to know how you guys did it.
    s52 obd1 swap with e34 pan. here are pictures.

    The small sheet metal bracket needs to be removed in order for the E34 pan to fit (I am assuming that you already have the E34 oil pickup as well).

    I find that if you bend it back and forth a few times it will break free with no metal shavings falling into the lower end.

        don't forget to put you oil pickup tube back on the oil pump

          all ready did that. lucky i didnt put the bolts on and pop it off again and put it on. thanks for the help guys

            After removing the bracket, check again that the pan fits (flush all around). Mine didn't. I'm still not 100% sure where the changeover is but mine was from a '92 E34 and the baffle cutouts for the oil drains didn't fit. I had to cut them deeper, it was supremely annoying to figure out what was binding (oil pump? pickup? mains?).

              dont forget to silicon the 3 edges where the 2 parts of the block meet. you are installing the e34 pick up right?

                I siliconed the whole thing. I had no intention of going through all this shit to have an oil leak thanks to a warp or crack or whatever, in the used pan.
