Would the radiator out of an M42 (with expansion tank on the side of the rad) be sufficient enough to cool a 2.5l M50?
Thanks
Aaron
yes... there are a few of us on here that have run that setup. I know that Greg, Bill and I have run them with little to no problems.
I used the stock AC fan to cool my engine when I didn't have AC, but once I added it, I put in a fan clutch with shaved down fins
Did anyone ever confirm that the m20 starter will work when using a getrag 260 tranny and m20 flywheel? I know someone said that "it fit", but I don't remember hearing any follow-ups.

Yup, it works. Make sure to check the clearance between the flywheel and the oilpan.
no booster means no power assist basically. It would be like driving a 60s Chevy.
Most of us have done the larger MC though, that is the easy part.
Yea I know what I am getting into. I am hopeing it will be more like an older Porsche or a race car. I really like the feal of them. Just thinking of new ideas and way to save some money on the swap. It would be alot less hassle since you can have a remote reservoir and you wont have to fiddle with the intake manifold and custom make this and that. Just checking. :D

Honestly, in the context of the whole project the modifications to the e21 booster are nothing.
Do all of the e36 engine harnesses have 2 big round connectors next to each other (EXCLUDING the diagnostic plug)? It's fairly obvious which is the main one as the other plug (which looks identical) only has metal plugs in 4 of the holes. Do I need to run these anywhere? Can I just clip the plug?
The second one would only exist, if I am correct, if the engine was mated to an auto transmssion.
All you have to do is carefully cut the wires for the auto tranny plug at the splices, or leave it all alone, or cut it at the plug and wrapped it in black tape, your call. Just watch what you are doing and take it slow.
The beast is almost done! Just one last question...
There are two small wires coming out of the same sleeve as the diagnostic plug. What are they? Power wires? Do I just connect them up to the remote battery terminal on the passenger-side firewall?
