I had an m42 coding plug in there and the thing would rev to 7.6k  A 325i coding plug aligned everything back up.

^That setup does not allow for coolant flow into the throttle body.

I just noticed you're in Ontario. Suppose it gets awfully nippy up there that would warrant the use of the coolant lines going to TB. Otherwise there is absolutely no need to run the coolant lines through the TB.

Haha yeah, good old -38C (About -36F for you guys stuck in the stone age;))

This will be my summer car so maybe I'll just route it like that.

I'm still not sure what our problem is. Metric is 99% more efficient than Standard.

I use the metric system almost exclusively at work. However, when I make detail prints for machinists, they demand they be in standard. It's awful.

Also, I just left my throttle heater switch thinger hanging out on the frame rail.

Does the Reinz engine block gasket kit have the o-ring for the dipstick? Do I need a different o-ring for the E34 dipstick, or will the one that comes with the E36/M50 kit work?

                    330i transplants

                    Hi all
I have joined this forum because I am looking to install a 530i M54 engine (all alloy) into my 316i E30. I will be using the car for rallying again following a successful year on the BMW Rear Wheel Drive Challenge. 4th overall and 1st BMW on the Tempest last weekend.
I am looking for around 240bhp from an engine that weighs no more than my current M20B25.
I have bought a 2002 530i saloon with a manual gearbox for not a lot of money and will get it on the dyno before removing the engine and box for transplanting.
As anyone done a 330i transplant into the E30. I am obviously trying to pick a few brains on this one.

                    Many thanks
                    Toni

Just from observations, Most American's don't like to admit they're wrong. Or be wrong for that matter. American doesn't want to convert to metric because they think that their way is better. Not to mention trying to teach an entire population something completely different from what they're used to.

                      Just my opinion.

Awesome, more Canadian snobbery. Take it to the Politics and Religion subforum where those that don't want to read it don't have to.

Not any kind of snobby remark in there, and the poster above me asked "I don't know what our problem is" I gave my opinion, didn't say I was right.

Don't be an asshole. Anyway, no point bickering and taking up room on this thread.

Hey guys, here's a couple of possibly silly questions. I'm about to pull the head, and was wondering, what's the best method for cleaning the outside of it? Also, I'd like it get it as new looking as possible. Can I get it clean to the point of looking new, or can I paint it?

Take it to a machine shop and have them wash it in a solvent tank.

With all the internals? I'm not going to completely pull apart the inside of the head, like all the cams and valves and stuff.
