crank chain wont go on cam sprocket

    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...85&hg=11&fg=25

I'm trying to get the chain on part #4. I do have a 0.140" MLS but it isnt even close to coming on. its a good half inch off. I have the tensioner taken off so shouldn't it just work?

    Yea it should.
Take the sprocket off of the cam and put the chain on the sprocket. Then you should be able to wiggle the sprocket onto the cam.

it was on the engine when I got it so it fit once.

            oh...weird...

Maybe a pic would help a bit. Sounds like your doing it right.

I think the chain isn't on the snout of the crank correctly.

but enough for that much space? Thats after ive rotated the crank to get enough slack.
